they say life starts at forty
everything before—just research.

whoever they are.

yeah, I buy that.

so how will I fare?
with nothing to prove, except to myself.

fully here.
now.

and knowing, damn well—
it’s enough.

a life lived is, in the end,
a single decision—

for it to be so.
